Our Story

In 1949, our church was established in Vancouver’s Chinatown neighbourhood- serving the people in the city with church services and discipleship classes. For many years since then, we’ve been a bilingual congregation primarily serving those from a Chinese context.

In 2023, prompted by the Holy Spirit, we took a step of faith to become a multicultural, multigenerational church serving our community on Main and 18th Avenue. This led us to the name that we go by today: Home Church.

Home Church stands for “Hope on Main & Eighteenth.” This new identity honours our heritage while pointing us forward, as we invite the Holy Spirit to transform and empower us.

We are also proud to be affiliated with the Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada, connecting us to a wider faith community.

Rooted in the Riley Park and Mount Pleasant neighbourhoods, we are committed to embracing community, sharing life together, and offering hope to our neighbours. This hope is not just an idea—it is found in a person: Jesus Christ, who transforms lives.

Welcome Home.
